The company was founded in 1983 by Graham Power, with one second-hand bakkie, three casual labourers and administrative help from his wife, Lauren. Thirty two years later, the company has over 1600 employees and operates across Southern Africa from regional offices in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Centurion and Swakopmund (Namibia).Over the past 32 years, Power Group has improved the lives of millions of South Africans through building quality homes. We have built schools, emergency centres, shopping malls and office blocks. We did the taxiways and runways at OR Tambo, Cape Town and East London airports and the infrastructure of five wind farms. Our portfolio also includes roads construction, earthworks and building structures.In 2014 we were honoured with a Special Merit Award by the South African Housing Foundation for the Pelican Park Integrated Housing Development. In 2014 our company was again recognised as one of South Africa’s Top Performing and Top 300 Companies. In 2015 we were awarded as Best Contractor in non-subsidy market and Best Project in implementing FLISP at the Govan Mbeki Awards and subsequently as leaders and achievers in two categories at the PMR.africa Diamond Awards.  We are a level two B-BBEE contributor; ISO 9001 certified with a CIDB 9CE, GB and SB Grading – the highest grading available in South Africa. As one of South Africa’s largest privately-owned construction companies, with a 30% staff ownership, the Power Group is geared to contribute towards South Africa’s vision of employment, black economic empowerment and housing.
