The above-mentioned position is available in the Office of the CEO Department. The purpose of the job is to maintain the Companies integrity by ensuring that the organisation and its people comply with legislations, regulations and ethical standards within the prescripts of its mandate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Implement and monitor effective legal compliance and governance programs • Develop sound internal controls, support mechanism and monitor adherence • Assist in the development and /or revision of organizational policies and governance framework • Ensure that the organization adheres to legal standards and organization’s policies and governance framework • Proactively review processes, practices and documents to identify areas of development and make recommendations for improvement • Collaborate with key stakeholders (internal/external) when needed • Conducting research, investigating facts and developing legal arguments • Draft legal documents such as contracts and letters • Draft, review and comment on internal policies and procedures • Prepare and file documents • Organize and archive the documents related to complete and ongoing legal matters • Keep track of changes in legal framework and regulatory developments
Required Skills
- Law: 5 to 6 years
Candidate Requirements
Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in law (BA Law or BCom Law) (NQF 7) or equivalent qualification, • Certified, relevant professional registration is compulsory
Work Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience in a legal and compliance role, preferably in the public service and/or tourism sector
Required Skills, Competencies and Attributes:
• Excellent understanding and interpretation of applicable legislations, and regulations, prescriptions and guidelines from National Treasury and Department of Arts and culture. • Investigative mind and strong research skills • Experience in preparing legal reports • Excellent communication and time management skills • Statistical understanding • Problem solving and analysis • Attention to detail • Knowledge management • Communication • Service delivery innovation • Honesty and integrity • Client orientation and customer focus • Training ability • Statistical knowledge
