Retail Manager - Building / ConstructionNational client in the steel industry is on a recruitment drive for a retail manager to join their team in George. The ideal candidate must have knowledge within the steel environment, plumbing and / or fencing.Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited:Opening and closing of the storeStaff management - including training, mentoring and development, rosters (Saturdays), staff problems, etc.Stock management - ensuring sufficient stock for the store by working closely with the stock controllerWorking towards Targets as set by managementClient / Customer management - developing and maintaining excellent customer serviceDriving and developing new businessStore merchandising - ensure that the store merchandising is done to best display full range of productsPromotions - ensure that all promotional items are well displayed, and promotional set-ups are done creativelyGeneral administration including weekly / monthly reportsAny additional ad hoc duties as required by branch manager

Qualifications

Matric coupled with retail and / or building diploma
Fluent in English and Afrikaans
Fully computer literate
3-4 years in retail industry (advantageous)
Valid Driver's license
Knowledge of steel / building / construction or plumbing - hugely advantageous
