Hire Resolve's client, a well-established firm of consulting engineers and scientists, is seeking a highly experienced Financial Manager to lead their finance department. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of financial systems and best practices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving financial performance, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term business goals. The position is based at the firm’s offices in Rivonia, Johannesburg.

Responsiiblities

Lead, manage, and motivate a finance team of 15 staff members
Oversee daily financial operations ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies
Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management
Provide strategic financial analysis and decision support to the executive team
Implement and manage financial systems including Proman, SAGE payroll, SAP Ariba, and Coupa
Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of financial reports
Maintain internal controls and drive process improvements for efficiency
Review and implement cost control measures and financial strategies to maximise profitability
Provide mentorship and leadership to promote professional development within the team
Verify and approve payroll transactions prior to final processing
Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial insights for strategic decisions
Liaise with external auditors during year-end audits and manage audit processes and responses
Ensure compliance with King IV and IFRS standards

Requirements

At least 15 years of financial management experience, including team leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Chartered Accountant (CA), CIMA, or equivalent professional certification
Proficiency with financial systems such as Proman, SAGE payroll, SAP Ariba, and Coupa
Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Proven track record of improving financial performance and implementing strategy
High level of self-motivation and ability to handle multiple priorities
Experience in consulting engineering firms is highly advantageous
