Candidate Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, manage and oversee accurate financial accounting functions for all companies in the group on Xero
• Prepare and manage financial consolidations and reconciliations across multiple entities
• Maintain and reconcile intercompany accounts
• Supervise and guide the in-house bookkeeper
• Handle all tax compliance and submissions, including:
  • Income Tax Returns (ITR14)
  • Provisional Tax Returns (IRP6)
  • Monthly Payroll Tax Submissions (EMP201)
  • Bi-Annual Payroll Reconciliations (EMP501)
• Oversee payroll processes on SimplePay to ensure compliance with PAYE, UIF, and SDL regulations
• Conduct strategic tax planning to optimize the group’s tax position
• Generate and analyse financial reports for decision-making
• Prepare annual budgets and track actual performance against forecasts
• Manage the preparation of financial documents for loan and funding applications
• Ensure full compliance with SARS, CIPC, and any industry-specific boards or regulations
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and reporting

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• A professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, or similar is highly advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a group or multi-entity environment
• Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and SARS processes
• Experience with intercompany accounting and financial consolidation
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
