1. Role Description:

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled Resident Engineer (Structures) to join a major construction project based in Cape Town.

The primary focus of this role is to manage and oversee all structural aspects during the construction phase of a large building complex. This includes ensuring compliance with design specifications, engineering standards, health and safety regulations, and project timelines.

The Resident Engineer will serve as the key liaison between the construction site and the office-based design and project management teams, maintaining effective communication across all stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proven experience in quality assurance and record keeping. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are essential to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support the design function.

3. Candidate Specifications:

• Minimum Qualification: BTech in Structural Engineering or a related field

• Professional Registration: Pr Tech Eng (Professional Engineering Technologist)

• Experience:

  • At least eight years of post-registration experience

  • A minimum of eight years of full-time site experience on commercial building projects involving reinforced concrete and structural steel

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in MS Office 365 and Microsoft collaboration tools

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project is an added advantage
