ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technician will need to undertake the following in the technical support department:

Technical support primarily DF products, but scope of work will also include support on the entire basket of products available from the company.

Development of Auto Cad drawings & design

Assist with on-site installations & commissioning of DF products for technical projects & Beta Sites

Direct report to DF Technical Manager, with secondary report to DF Product Manager where needed

Assist with Assembly.

▪ Automation irrigation dosing units

▪ Controllers in cabinets with protection devices

▪ Radio units

▪ Testing software + hardware (beta sites)

▪ Wiring of cabinets and panels

Troubleshoot

▪ Controller hardware

▪ Controller software

▪ Telephonic support to dealers and end users

▪ On-Site support to dealers and end users – South Africa & SADC Countries

Training on DF Products

▪ Training of dealers and end users on correct usage of automation equipment

Filter Bank & Other Netafim Products

▪ Where required assist with the servicing of filter banks and back flush controllers, etc.

Education/Experience/Skills

BTech/Degree in one of the following disciplines:

Engineering/Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics

Drivers Licence

3-5 years’ relevant experience

Good time management skills

Good interpersonal skills

Self-starter and good problem-solving skills

Valid driver’s licence

Valid passport - The position can entail travel throughout the country as well as surrounding countries.

Preferred skills/fields of knowledge:

ELV electrical systems

VSD / PLC

Computer hardware systems

Hydraulics / Flow Dynamics

Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor drawings

Must be a qualified electrician
