Starke Ayres is the foremost African specialist and global supplier of premium vegetable, flower and lawn seed varieties – both for commercial and home garden planting. The following position has become available for a Trial Seed Coordinator, based in Kempton Park. This role is responsible for trial and sample seed and overlooking the export trial seeds depot, stock take, and distribution of all seeds. Thorough follow up from sending the seed to receiving final trial results.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving of new material from external companies.
- Capturing of new inventory on system.
- Coding of new material for trial purposes.
- Arranging trial seed to be packed down into usable quantities.
- Packing stock into trial depot.
- Transfer stock to various depots.
- Attendance of the product development meetings to provide feedback on the results of trials per variety.
- Receive all incoming calls, deal with them professionally and promptly and ensures that messages are distributed and tended to as speedily as possible. Assist with walk-in clients as needed.
- Always acts responsibly and professionally, fostering goodwill and a positive image for the company.
- Fully co-operate with other departments within the Company in the execution of your duties.
- Maintain effective communications and follow-through with Product Managers and Regional sales managers to ensure various deadlines are met timeously.
- Check incoming emails and respond promptly, distributes outgoing emails with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a high level of responsibility and integrity when dealing with matters of a high confidentiality nature.
- Request postal orders, purchase request and receipts.
- Timely capturing of invoices.
- Process and generate accurate sale/marketing reports and other working papers necessary for effective marketing.
- Identifies and develop effective management systems that will contribute to improve workload and time management.
- Generates phytosanitary certificates for all orders
- Keeps up to date information on Import phytos, field inspections reports issued phytosanitary certificates.
- Arrange external lab testing with the ARC and any external accredited labs like CSP.
- Develop and manage a filling system and files all documentation in an orderly manner.

Qualifications:
- Matric (Essential)
- Diploma / Degree in Agriculture / Supply Chain or similar would be an added advantage
Experience:
- 3- 5 years relevant experience in export logistics
Skills:
- Trial Seed knowledge.
- Understanding of export logistics
