To manage and oversee financial functions, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes across multiple entities. The role includes financial oversight, stock management, compliance, and systems improvement.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monthly cashbook processing and bank reconciliations in Evolution
- Reconciliation of major suppliers and financing houses
- Preparation and posting of journals in Pastel
- Maintenance of the Fixed Assets register and accounting entries
- Expense analysis and cost improvement initiatives
- Full stock management with outsourced warehousing partners, ensuring reconciliations and variance resolution
- Attending biannual stock takes at the main warehouse in Johannesburg
- Stock costing in Pastel Evolution, in conjunction with the Stock Accountant
- Planning and managing Inter-Branch Transfers (IBTs)
- Supervising the on-site warehouse for stock-related issues
- Finalizing financial records for annual audits and assisting with auditors
- Implementing and improving accounting systems and policies
- Assisting with web portals and online sales systems
- Preparing VAT reports for SARS submission
- Accounting-related degree
- 2-4 years of working experience in a commercial environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong team player with a can-do attitude
- Knowledge of accounting packages (Evolution advantageous)
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail
- Forex exposure
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Logical mindset, motivated by building practical and sustainable solutions
- Strong prioritization skills
- Strong aptitude for learning new systems
