Job Specification: Mechanical Engineer – Manufacturing Planner & Quality Control (Steel Industry) 🔧We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a steel manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is a perfectionist with a strong background in manufacturing planning, technical drawings, and quality control. Based in Kempton park, but you will travel to mining sites and clients. Position Overview:As a Manufacturing Planner & Quality Control Engineer, you will be responsible for:Reading, creating, and updating technical drawings with precise measurements.Ensuring accuracy and compliance in all manufacturing processes.Conducting site visits to take measurements and verify client requirements.Managing quality control in the steel manufacturing plant to maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Develop, read, and update detailed technical drawings.
✅ Ensure measurement accuracy and precision in all designs.
✅ Oversee quality control processes in manufacturing, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
✅ Conduct on-site measurements and assessments for project planning.
✅ Work closely with production teams to optimise planning, scheduling, and process efficiency.
✅ Identify and resolve technical discrepancies before fabrication.
Requirements:
✔ Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
✔ Experience in manufacturing planning and technical drawing interpretation.
✔ Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
✔ Hands-on experience in quality control within a steel manufacturing environment.
✔ Detail-oriented and perfectionist mindset – accuracy is key!
✔ Ability to work on-site for measurements and compliance checks.
Must be South African and must have a drivers license and their own vehicle.
