Falcon is looking for a dynamic Warehouse Manager that is responsible for the total management and oversight of the warehouse operations. This includes inventory management, warehousing processes, budgeting, financial administration, safety, and dispatch functions.
Description:
Purpose of the Job:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the total management and oversight of the warehouse operations. This includes inventory management, warehousing processes, budgeting, financial administration, safety, and dispatch functions. The role also ensures compliance with the company’s policies and standards while maintaining an efficient and secure working environment.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesInventory / Stock Control:
Manage stock holding and reconcile with data storage systems.
Oversee inventory movements and conduct stock counts.
Warehousing:
Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision.
Plan and implement warehouse design layouts, inspect equipment, and issue work orders for repair and requisition for replacement.
Ensure optimal space utilization and initiate, coordinate, and enforce warehouse policies and procedures.
Manage the order cycle, liaise with suppliers, and oversee receiving, picking, packing, and distribution processes.
Handle reverse logistics and manage the workshop function.
Budgeting / Financial Administration:
Prepare annual budgets and approve expenditures.
Analyze budget variances and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
OHS, Security, and Maintenance:
Maintain health, safety, hygiene, and security standards within the warehouse.
Manage the maintenance and condition of equipment and tools.
Dispatch:
Liaise with distribution companies to manage quality, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
Employment Management:
Recruit, select, orient, and coach employees.
Supervise logistics staff and manage warehouse manpower requirements.
Foster positive employee relations and liaise with unions when required.
Requirements:
- Relevant Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics or B. Com
- At least 10 years of relevant warehousing experience
- Proficient in MS Office, warehousing management, and WMS systems.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Essential: Decision-making, directing people, resolving conflict, following procedures, and problem-solving.
- Important: Providing insights, articulating information, staying composed under pressure, meeting deadlines, and ensuring accuracy.
