Our client in Blackheath, Cape Town, is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Degree/Diploma in Financial Accounting (BAcc/Com/BCompt) or a similar qualification, along with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must be deadline-driven, proficient in MS Office, and have experience with SYSPRO (an advantage). Additionally, they should be bilingual in both English and Afrikaans, possess their own reliable transport (non-negotiable), and have a strong attention to detail with the ability to follow established processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Degree/Diploma in Financial Accounting (BAcc/Com/BCompt) or similar qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
Deadline-driven with the ability to manage time effectively
Proficient in MS Office; experience with SYSPRO is an advantage
Own reliable transport – non negotiable
Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Afrikaans
Ability to follow established processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

DUTIES:

Bookkeeping up to balance sheet (Cashbook processing and journals)
Bank reconciliations
General Ledger reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
Managing logbooks for company fleet/vehicles
Monthly VAT201 and EMP201 reconciliation and submission
Year-end closure and assistance in preparing the annual audit files
Creditor’s function, including monthly credit run
Capturing of purchase orders
All other financial and administrative duties related to this position

HOURS:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00 – 17:00
Friday: 08:00 – 15:00
