Job Profile
To provide professional laboratory expertise, guidance, and advice to the delivery of undergraduate academic activities within the department. To provide support for student learning, informal and formal training and instruction, and proficiency development with highly specialist techniques, production methods, and technology.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree / BTech (NQF 7) in Physics or equivalent with a vast understanding of Physics Labs and the environment.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Experimental Physics as well as basic repair of laboratory equipment.
- Basic use of power tools and equipment
- The applicant should have a broad knowledge of first-year Physics.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good organizational and planning
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications and strong work ethic
- Experience in E-learning
- First Aid Training Course.
- Plan and facilitate student projects in the laboratories.
- Compiling and designing physics laboratory manuals for students
- Manage and maintain the laboratories.
- Assist with the development of the laboratories.
- Budgeting and ordering laboratory equipment.
- Perform duties of setting up instruments, cleaning, dismantling, calibrating, and maintaining the equipment for safe use.
- Assist in postgraduate research.
