JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
- To ensure that the staff of the Assembly Department is appropriately motivated and trained and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
- To take initiatives for improvements in processes for quality & cost benefits of plants
- To ensure resource planning & Production budgeting
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overall responsibility of the Assembly .
- Responsible and accountable for meeting customer orders
- Production Planning & daily performance monitoring
- Planning day-to-day activities, production schedules, cost estimation activities and allocating work for achieving of monthly production targets
- Daily review of Production reports with the manufacturing head, upkeep of Production & Planning records
- Review of Customer Schedules & material status with the Unit Head- Daily MIS
- Daily monitoring/ review of reported Non-Conformances & Customer Complaints
- Minimizing performance bottlenecks for high productivity with optimization of men, material, method & machine
- Assisting HR in preparation of Departmental Org-Chart, Job Descriptions & KRAs. Also assisting in selection & appointment of suitable candidates
- Acting as faculty for product/ process related trainings - Preparation of Training Programs (5S, TPM etc.)
- Regular monitoring of Departmental objectives & taking necessary corrective actions
- Periodic performance appraisals of staff and recommendations
- Monitoring of Shop-Floor housekeeping & environmental aspects
- Monthly MIS & review with top management
- Scheduling & monitoring of 5-S audits of Shop floor area and Ensuring best 5S at Assembly shop
- Monthly review of Breakdown & Preventive Maintenance Records
- Preventive maintenance planning in coordination with maintenance team
- Resource planning & Production budgeting
- Arranging & execution of SPC Studies
- Assessing the training needs of employees in co-ordination with HR
- Involving in employee coaching & counseling, appraising and reviewing performance, ensuring optimum performance
- Analyzing various processes/ applications and recommending process modifications and equipment calibrations to enhance operational efficiency
- Involving in employee coaching & counseling, appraising and reviewing performance, ensuring optimum performance
- Create an atmosphere of active working by maintaining good human relations among members in the working groups
- Developing and approving IMS documents where required
- Identifying IMS related problems encountered in activity
- Initiating action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety
- Initiating, recommending and providing solutions through designated channels
- Verifying the effectiveness of solutions implemented, and
- Control of nonconforming products / activities in the area

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3-5 years minimum experience in Production Management

- Computer Skills (ERP)/ Related software
- Line balancing
