Job Description:

A non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to supporting communities affected by poverty, alcohol abuse, and gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper. The organization operates in multiple townships, providing holistic support to vulnerable children and youth to foster social, emotional, and academic development.

Location: Plumstead, Cape Town 

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including payments, receipts, and petty cash
• Process payroll and maintain HR records
• Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable
• Prepare and submit statutory tax forms (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, IT12EI)
• Assist in budget development, variance analysis, and financial reporting
• Draft annual financial statements and prepare audit files
• Work closely with management teams, including fundraising and program managers
