SSK is seeking a skilled Network Technician with hands-on experience in FortiGate firewalls and a solid foundation in networking principles (CompTIA Network+ or equivalent). The ideal will be supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure across multiple sites.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and support FortiGate firewalls.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity issues.
• Patch, assess, and maintain network cabling, switches, and wireless APs.
• Monitor network health and firewall status directly on FortiGate devices.
• Escalate advanced routing, VPN, or policy issues to Senior Engineers.
• Assist with network documentation, asset management, and audits.
• Support basic VLAN, DHCP, DNS, and NAT configuration tasks.

Requirements:

• CompTIA Network+ (or equivalent foundational certificate).
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on networking experience.
• Familiarity with FortiGate GUI/CLI for basic firewall and interface configuration.
• Understanding TCP/IP, subnets, routing, and switching basics.
• Strong grasp of the OSI model and ability to apply it in troubleshooting scenarios.
• Ability to trace and resolve physical and logical connectivity issues.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Solid practical experience with FortiGate firewalls in live environments.
• Experience with structured cabling and site installations.
• Basic scripting or automation knowledge is a plus.
• Fortigate experience required, not certification.
