Job purpose statement:

Lesedi is seeking a strategic Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Executive to join our Executive Committee. In this influential role reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of our Integrated Management System (IMS), maintaining ISO compliance & certification and uphold & improve safety culture.

This is a strategic leadership position responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our Integrated Management System (IMS) that encompasses Quality management, Health & Safety, Environmental management, and Nuclear-specific requirements.  You will lead a team of SHEQ professionals and influence safety culture across the entire organisation, ensuring we deliver projects that meet all client specifications and regulatory requirements while maintaining zero harm principles.

Key Performance Areas

• IMS oversight and improvement: Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the organization's management systems.
• Safety culture development: Create and sustain a nuclear safety culture, implementing zero harm principles.
• Environmental management: Implement systems to reduce environmental impact while supporting business growth.
• IMS integration: Ensure cohesive application of IMS principles throughout the organization
• Supplier quality management: Develop specifications and ensure supplier capabilities meet organizational needs.
• Client requirements management: Ensure all deliverables meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Divisional leadership: Provide strategic direction and people management to the SHEQ

Qualifications:

• NQF level 7 in Quality Management or equivalent safety qualifications.
• Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) or SACPCMP Safety Registration
• Additional qualification in engineering or technical field (advantageous)

Experience:

• Minimum 12 years in quality management, with at least 5 years in senior management
• Experience in quality inspections, auditing, and testing or proven experience in health and safety management at corporate level.
• Appreciation of general health and safety and quality legislative requirements (Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mines Health and Safety Act, ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and ISO 19443). Experience with ASME NQA1, RD 034, and IAEA GSR3 will be advantageous.
• Nuclear and/or EPC environment experience (desired)
• Additional qualification in engineering or technical field (advantageous)

Knowledge:

• Comprehensive understanding of SHEQ standards and nuclear requirements
• Working knowledge of legislation applicable to EPC works
• Understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
• Exceptional knowledge of OHS Act; Construction Regulations; environmental requirements and associated laws
