PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Control and ensure accuracy of financial data.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Prepare month-end journals for the following processes –
- Sundry expenses (SLA, printer, moonstone, fleet, petty cash, cost cycles, etc.)
- Prepare Bank journal:
- Update bank file & journal weekly
- Complete (park) journal within time constraints
- Identify & resolve unknown deposits
- Ensure correct allocations
- Update Fixed Assets register:
- Ensure all new assets are allocated correctly on asset register
- Control correctness of commission allocation for processing in SAP as prepared by Administrative Clerk
- Perform other relevant ad hoc function as required by management
- Recons of Premium & Bank Control Accounts:
- System A premium report
- NWK Control account analysis
- Epic premium collections list
- Payroll collection reports
- Bank statements
- Insurer statements
- Clearance of un-reconciled items:
- Compile correcting journals on incorrect payments & collections
- Follow-up
- Clearing of reconciled items
- Creditor reconciliations
- Ensure correctness of all premium payments performed by Admin Clerk(s):
- Validate premium statements (bdx)
- Handle queries as escalated by Admin Clerk(s)
- Ensure completeness of payments
- Ensure correct allocations of payments
- Ensure timely payments
- Validate vendor information
- Provide support to Admin Clerk(s) in case of exceptions
- System A administration:
- Validate correctness of premium collection and allocation
- Handle premium collection inquiries (From brokers and insurers)
- Prepare General Journals for small differences
- Prepare monthly management information:
- Gather relevant business driver information
- Evaluate and judge correctness of information, determine problem areas and correct
- Update files timeously with relevant information
- Prepare debtor invoices:
- Prepare monthly invoices for outsource/admin fees for insurers
- Claims mandate activities:
- First approval of claims captured on insurer bank accounts
- Manage small assets, vehicles and contracts:
- Manage acquisitions of small assets (Furniture, printers)
- Monthly payroll administration:
- Compile monthly information for processing by Senwes Payroll
- Provide reports and information for Kroonstad commission sharing
- Prepare commission reports for agent commission payments and reporting to agents
- Reporting to agents:
- Obtain relevant information (detail commission statements and expense accounts) and prepare commission reports for agents
Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate.
- At least 3 years’ experience in the distribution department.
- Candidates with completed SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA will receive preference.
