Job Description:

• Design Leadership: Lead the creation of premium product enclosures, integrating advanced electronics. Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using tools like SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360 for production.
• Aesthetic & Functional Integration: Combine industrial design and engineering to create visually appealing, durable, and ergonomic enclosures, optimized for thermal management and assembly.
• Manufacturability & Prototyping: Validate designs through rapid prototyping methods (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining) and ensure manufacturability, working with partners to meet design and cost targets.
• Material & Process Expertise: Select materials and finishes that enhance the product’s appearance and performance and implement advanced fabrication techniques using software such as CAM software for CNC machining.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure innovative product development, utilizing collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack. Provide leadership in enclosure engineering.
• Continuous Innovation: Stay updated on trends in design and materials, applying new insights to improve products based on user feedback and testing using data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Excel.

Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360) and strong sketching and visualization skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in material selection, thermal management, and structural analysis (including FEA).
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and transitioning designs from concept to mass production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection moulding, and surface finishing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a startup environment.
• A keen eye for design aesthetics and a passion for creating products that are both beautiful and functional.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in product enclosure design for consumer electronics, with a proven track record in designing premium, high-quality housings.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design
• Familiarity with industrial design software and rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, Alias) - Advantageous
