The main purpose of this position is to proactively provide efficient and effective support for E-Learning within CTLPD.
Minimum requirements
- Relevant Diploma.
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
- 3-4 years related experience.
- Computer literate.
Administer e-learning Resource Materials: Core Curriculum and Computer Literacy
- Provide support to the Manager, to make sure the interactive and innovative e-learning resource materials are available.
- Assist with curriculum content and coordinate the computer literacy component of the first-year core-curriculum module.
- Manage the content for the computer literacy online platform for the first-year core curriculum module.
- Liaise with academic literacy Lecturers on issues of assessment and student progress.
- Provide support to the Manager, to ensure that teaching and learning video content material for students are available.
- Assist with the editing and proofread of new resources.
- Ensure that the teaching and learning video content material for academic staff, on how to use Moodle, is available.
- Provide support in identifying e-tools and new approaches to e-learning.
- Provide support to academic staff on effective implementation of the learning management system.
- Assist with the managing of all the digital teaching and learning content developed by Sol Plaatje University.
- Assist with establishment of efficient file sharing/updating/archival processes
- Assist with secure proper databases
- Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place, to secure access during emergencies, strikes, etc.
- Provide training for e-tutors and assist with the user support for students on the online learning platform.
- Assist with the orientation of new staff and students on e-learning systems.
- Assist with providing training for academic staff on the online teaching and learning platform.
- Measure and monitor user satisfaction indicators and highlight any issues of concern.
- Keep abreast of developments within e-learning and its implications for SPU.
- Contribute in data generation and collection for research into teaching and learning to advance and develop e-learning.
- Relevant operational reports as and when required.
- Research and implement best practices.
- Communicate and consult with relevant stakeholders.
