Die suksesvolle kandidaat sal verseker dat alle bedrywighede voldoen aan Suid-Afrikaanse beroepsgesondheid en -veiligheid (OHS) wette, risiko-evaluerings uitvoer, SHE-beleid implementeer en 'n veilige werksomgewing vir alle werknemers verseker.

Hoof Verantwoordelikhede:

• Gesondheid- en Veiligheidsnakoming:

  • Verseker nakoming van die Wet op Beroepsgesondheid en Veiligheid (OHSA) van Suid-Afrika, die COID-wet en ander relevante regulasies.
  • Voer gereelde risiko-evaluerings, veiligheidsinspeksies en voorvalondersoeke uit.
  • Handhaaf SHE-beleide en prosedures.
  • Verseker dat alle werknemers en kontrakteurs veilige werkspraktyke volg en persoonlike beskermende toerusting (PPE) gebruik.

• Omgewingsbestuur:

  • Monitor omgewingsnakoming en verseker voldoening aan afvalbestuur, besoedelingsbeheer en volhoubaarheidspraktyke.
  • Implementeer en hou toesig oor omgewingsbewustheidsprogramme.
  • Verseker nakoming van die Nasionale Wet op Omgewingsbestuur (NEMA) regulasies.

• Voorval- & Noodgevalbestuur:

  • Ondersoek ongelukke en noodgevalle, en implementeer regstellende aksies.
  • Ontwikkel noodreaksieplanne en voer noodreaksie-oefeninge uit.
  • Handhaaf akkurate SHE-rekords, verslae en dokumentasie.

• Opleiding & Werknemersbetrokkenheid:

  • Voer veiligheidsinduksies uit vir nuwe werknemers en handhaaf deurlopende SHE-opleiding vir alle personeel.
    
  • Werk nou saam met bestuurders en toesighouers om SHE-standaarde oor alle skofte te verbeter.

• Oudits & Verslagdoening:

  • Berei en dien SHE-nakomingsverslae in by bestuur.
  • Koördineer eksterne oudits en inspeksies deur regulatoriese owerhede.
  • Bly op hoogte van veranderinge in SHE-wette en beste praktyke.

Posvereistes:

• Diploma / Graad in Beroepsgesondheid & Veiligheid, Omgewingsbestuur, of 'n verwante veld.
• 3-5 jaar se SHE-ervaring in 'n vervaardigings- of industriële omgewing.
• Kennis van ISO 45001 (OHS) en ISO 14001 (Omgewingsbestuur) is voordelig.
• Sterk begrip van Suid-Afrikaanse SHE-wetgewing en nakomingsvereistes.
• Ervaring met voorvalondersoeke.
• Sterk kommunikasie-, verslagdoening- en probleemoplossingsvaardighede.
• Vaardigheid in Excel en SAP sal 'n bykomende voordeel wees.
• SAMTRAC / NEBOSH-sertifisering is voordelig.

Senior SHE Officer

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Officer to oversee compliance at our 24-hour manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will ensure that all operations comply with South African occupational health and safety (OHS) laws, conduct risk assessments, implement SHE policies, and promote a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of South Africa, the COID Act, and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
• Maintain and update SHE policies, procedures, and safety files.
• Ensure all employees and contractors adhere to safe work practices and use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Environmental Management:

• Monitor environmental compliance and ensure adherence to waste management, pollution control, and sustainability practices.
• Implement and oversee environmental awareness programs.
• Ensure compliance with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) regulations.

Incident & Emergency Management:

• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and conduct emergency response plans and drills.
• Maintain accurate SHE records, reports, and documentation.

Training & Employee Engagement:

• Conduct safety inductions for new employees and ongoing SHE training for all staff.
• Promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns and toolbox talks.
• Work closely with managers and supervisors to improve SHE standards across all shifts.

Audits & Reporting:

• Prepare and submit SHE compliance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate external audits and inspections from regulatory authorities.
• Stay up to date with changes in SHE laws and best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of SHE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 (OHS) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) is preferred.
• Strong understanding of South African SHE legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Strong communication, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and SAP will be an added advantage.
• SAMTRAC / NEBOSH certification is advantageous.
