Hire Resolve's client, a dynamic and client-focused accounting and auditing firm based in Woodstock, Cape Town, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Tax Consultant to join their growing team. Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and other entities (including VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, and Income Tax).
Provide high-level tax consulting and advisory services, including tax planning, structuring, and compliance advice to clients.
Conduct thorough tax research and stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
Identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks, delivering value-added recommendations.
Review SARS assessments and handle objections, appeals, and disputes.
Liaise and negotiate with SARS on behalf of clients.
Assist with SARS audits, verifications, and reviews.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior tax staff.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
Collaborate closely with other departments, including audit and accounting, to provide integrated client solutions.

Requirements

BCom Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field (essential).
Postgraduate qualification in Taxation (e.g., HDip Tax or Postgraduate Diploma in Taxation) is highly advantageous.
Registered Tax Practitioner status with SARS.
Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in tax consulting and compliance, preferably within a professional services or accounting firm.
Strong working knowledge of South African tax laws, regulations, and SARS procedures.
Experience with tax software (e.g., GreatSoft, CaseWare, or similar).
Excellent communication, client relationship, and negotiation skills.
High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing junior staff.
