WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

As an Refrigeration Technician, your expertise will drive top-tier service delivery. Expect to:

• The mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnosing of equipment and control systems.
• The maintenance/servicing of equipment.
• The repair of equipment.
• Handle confidential and non-routine information
• Tests and/or troubleshoots a variety of items dependent on specific trade expertise for the purpose of assessing item functioning and recommending repair or replacement 
• Liaising with clients regarding requirements, quality and, completion of work.
• Completing technical service records.
• Skills transfer/development of junior staff
• Accurate administration w.r.t. Time sheets, vehicle records, etc.
• Communication with SFI helpdesk to provide accurate feedback
• Active contribution to improvement of procedures, policies and productivity.
• Conduct electrical and/or electronic tests on equipment and control systems.
• Strip equipment (if required) to determine faults.
• Be available to work extended hours and weekends on an as needed basis;
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Builds and maintains a work atmosphere of trust and respect by establishing open communication among team members

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED 

Experience:

• 3 - 5 years refrigeration industry experience after obtaining your Refrigeration Trade Qualification.
• Commercial refrigeration experience
• Experience and Exposure to:
  • Freezer room / cold rooms package units
  • Ice machines and chilled water systems
  • Display Chillers
  • Various Split Unit Installations
• Adherence to SLA and contractual terms of services
• Experience in staff supervision.
• Ability to work independently

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Commercial Refrigeration Trade Certificate
• Safe Handling Practitioner Certificate
• Valid Driver’s License (essential for site visits)
