We are on the lookout for a Senior BI and Data Solutions Engineer to join our Information Technology Shared Services division in Bryanston, playing a key role in delivering cutting-edge analytics solutions that drive success.

About the Role

As a Senior BI and Data Solutions Engineer, you will be at the forefront of AVI’s Business Intelligence strategy, leveraging your expertise to develop and implement high-impact analytics solutions. Reporting to the Business Analytics Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize BI systems that enable data-driven decision-making. Your ability to turn complex data challenges into streamlined solutions using the Microsoft BI stack will be essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools.
Define and implement best practices for BI architecture, data integration, and analytics solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers, ensuring adherence to SDLC best practices.
Optimize data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure accurate, timely, and scalable data delivery.
Partner with Business Analysts and key stakeholders to translate business needs into robust BI solutions.
Maintain and enhance the data warehouse environment, ensuring its efficiency and scalability.
Champion data governance, quality, and integrity across the organization.
Stay ahead of emerging BI trends and technologies to drive continuous innovation.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related degree
8-10 years of IT experience, with at least 6 years in BI development.
Expertise in the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SQL Server, Power BI, Power Pivot, Power View).
Strong SQL scripting and data modeling
Proven experience working with SAP R/3 ERP back-end.
Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and performance optimization.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic and analytical mindset.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
