Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and resource allocations for utility-scale solar projects.

Job Description

• Work with design teams to review and refine solar system designs ensuring they meet all technical specifications and industry standards.
• Monitor and coordinate day-to-day construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
• Serve as a point of contact between internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
• Track project progress, including quantities, costs, and schedule adherence. Assist in preparing cost reports and forecasts and take action to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
• Prepare and review submittals, technical reports, drawings, and other documentation as required for the successful completion of projects.
• Assist in identifying, reviewing, and negotiating changes to scope, design, or schedule. Ensure proper documentation of all changes to project scope and cost.
• Ensure adherence to safety  and quality protocols and standards during the construction and installation of solar systems. Support the identification and resolution of potential safety hazards.
• Assist in project close-out, including final inspections, testing, and commissioning of solar systems
• Regular Travelling to sites with South and Southern Africa to ensure contracts are being carried out to design specifications and compliance to regulations

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in project engineering, with experience in utility-scale solar projects.
• Proficiency in project management software and design tools – Pvsyst/Pvsol/ AutoCAD
• Strong Contract documentation and contract knowledge
• Familiarity with utility-scale solar design, construction, and commissioning processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and external partners.

Qualification:
BEng/ BSc / BTech / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronic Engineering
