- Manage the conservative usage of the concessions water resources
- Manage the conservative usage of the concession's energy resources and ensure energy saving initiatives are implemented
- Maintain correct monitoring of all water and energy usage as per set standards
- Maintain all concession vehicles including game drive vehicles, camp utilities and heavy duty vehicles in accordance with maintenance programs
- Maintain all boats and associated equipment in accordance with maintenance programs
- Maintain concession and camp fire fighting bowsers, pumps and equipment
- Maintain the concessions road network to an acceptable guest comfort level and as defined by maintenance standards
- Maintain the concessions airstrips to an acceptable guest comfort level and as defined by maintenance standards
- Ensure proper planning with operational management to minimize impact on guests during maintenance programs
- Ensure that all new equipment is correctly commissioned in the concession
- Ensure that all new equipment is supplied with both sufficient spares and a detailed manual and spares list
- Manage all new works and repairs within the existing architectural and design concept of the respective camp
- Ensure that all new works are commissioned within the correct environmental policies and procedures framework as defined by OWS
- Interact with guests on an informative basis as required
- Assist in the correct waste management procedures being adhered to in the concession
- Assist with the removal of all waste from the concession
- Conduct regular checks to ensure control of pests in the concession
- Manage the loading and offloading of concession trucks as required in accordance with the environmental and safety policies of the company
- Assist the loading and offloading of camp trucks as required In accordance with the environmental and safety policies of the company
- Assist in controlling and monitoring the safe transfer and transportation of any fuel around the concession ensuring no spillage and avoiding potential ecological disaster
- To assist in annual budget preparation within framework and timetable provided by the Finance Department
- To manage operational monthly expenditure within the annual budgets
- To manage CAPEX monthly expenditure within the annual budgets
- To report to Finance on operational information required for the monthly pack
- To understand and respect the ordering system
- To manage orders within the Budgets, for each month and accumulated year to-date
- To endeavor to improve on prices and quality from supplier
- To ensure that all concession orders are received in good order in the concession
- To ensure that all goods received tie up to the supplier invoice
- To ensure that we only pay for goods received

- To produce concession wage request to Asst BMs
- To keep monthly concession staff attendance register current
- To submit the stock sheets to Concession Administrator
- To ensure that all items received during the month are recorded

- Maintenance stores are kept in an orderly and systematic fashion
- To maintain a minimum and maximum level of consumables and spare parts and advice on such levels to ensure the capital cost efficiency of the stores
- Identify and maintain critical stock, minimum levels and control
- Maintain and control an updated tools list and carry out a monthly inventory and daily issues of power tools as required
- To have set standards for the corrective and preventative maintenance procedures for each asset under management
- To have key staff members responsible for certain pieces of equipment
- To record in a register the assets under management
- Dispose of assets in accordance with system in place
- To be familiar with and manage the systems involving the handling and reporting of incidents of whatever nature (Fire, safety, health, accident etc)
- To ensure incidents are communicated at the earliest possible moment
- To ensure all staff are trained and inducted into the OWS vehicle training program
- Maintain hygiene standards in the Maintenance work areas to recognized international levels
- Ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to when operating all Maintenance equipment
- Ensure adherence to and awareness of the requirements in energy conservation
- Ensure adherence to and awareness of the requirements in water conservation
- Ensure adherence of all staff to the off road policy of the concession
- Ensure constant environmental education to all staff in motivating them to understand the part they play in conservation
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The TSM will take daily responsibility to ensure the management of the Maintenance Department with the function of reactive repairs and planned maintenance, which will include managing Company assets and staff members. This position will report directly to the General Manager, with a dual reporting responsibility to the Asset Manager.
The candidate for this position will be qualified and/or have substantial experience of a relevant building trade e.g. electrical, mechanical engineering, plumbing, drainage, construction, painting and decorating etc. Leading a team of maintenance staff, you will be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills to lead, plan and delegate the teams work and be willing to take a hands-on approach to the maintenance and repairs. A major part of this role will be focused on up-skilling the team in order to reduce the number of contractors used.
