Employer: Western Cape Corporate Placements
Our client in the retail industry is seeking a Payroll Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely management of payroll and benefits for employees . You will oversee the South African payroll while coordinating payroll service providers in other regions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and the seamless delivery of payroll services. The role also involves driving automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Empathy for employees, a strong analytical mindset, and a focus on cost management and compliance are critical to success in this position.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Certifications in payroll management (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) are advantageous.5+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 2 years overseeing multi-jurisdictional payrolls.
- Proven track record of driving payroll process improvements and automation.
- Experience in benefits administration and compliance with South African labor laws.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems and tax regulations in South Africa (e.g., PAYE, UIF).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in payroll software and tools (SAGE 300, Excel).
