We are looking to recruit a Retail Financial Analyst to join our Retail Finance department. This role requires a commercially minded finance professional with experience in acquisitions, onboarding, and seamless transitions, particularly within the retail and pharmaceutical industries.

The role will involve extensive travel in the beginning, primarily to the Eastern Cape, to support business setup, financial integration, and operational alignment.

Job's Purpose:
To provide commercial finance support to the business, focusing on financial planning, reporting, acquisitions, and business onboarding. The role also involves master data management, business valuations, and financial modeling to drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Acquisitions & Onboarding: Conduct financial due diligence, valuation assessments, and integration planning for acquisitions. Ensure a smooth transition by managing financial data migration and operational alignment.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Deliver insightful monthly financial reports, including exception reporting, trend analysis, and commentary.
Profitability & Value-Add Analysis: Conduct benchmarking, investment evaluations, and financial modeling to optimize performance.
Decision Support & Business Partnering: Develop dynamic reports and dashboards (Power BI preferred) to aid decision-making.
Master Data & Systems Management: Oversee master data accuracy, purchase order processing, and capex management.
Stakeholder Management: Engage with key business stakeholders, including franchise partners and operational teams, to align financial goals.
Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Challenges:

Managing multiple deadlines while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting and analysis.
Balancing financial oversight with business growth strategies in acquisitions and new business onboarding.
Enhancing stakeholder engagement to drive financial transparency and accountability.
Extensive travel in the early stages to the Eastern Cape to support business setup and integration.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:
- CA(SA) – Non-negotiable.
- 5 years of post-articles experience in a commercial finance environment.
- Proven experience in acquisitions, onboarding, and seamless transitions within the retail and pharmaceutical industries.
- Experience working with SAP as an ERP system (mandatory).
- Advanced Excel skills (mandatory).
- Power BI experience (advantageous).
Job-Related Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, reporting, and investment analysis.
- Expertise in corporate business transactions and valuation methodologies.
- Ability to persuade, influence, and communicate effectively across teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial performance and business opportunities.
- Experience in stakeholder management, particularly in acquisition transitions.
