Hire Resolve is seeking a Bookkeeper for our client, a leading plumbing contracting company based in Cape Town. Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers using Pastel/SAGE/QuickBooks.
• Reconcile bank statements and process monthly financial reports.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with South African financial regulations and tax laws.
• Process invoices, purchase orders, and payments to suppliers.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Generate and send customer invoices, follow up on outstanding payments, and manage debtors.
• Process employee salaries, including UIF, PAYE, and leave calculations.
• Maintain employee records and handle payroll-related queries.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements.
• Maintain proper filing systems for financial and administrative documents.
• Assist management with ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks.
• Liaise with auditors and financial consultants when required.

• Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance.
• Minimum 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience (preferably in the construction/plumbing industry).
• Experience with Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software.
• Strong understanding of VAT, PAYE, and SARS compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
