Job Title: Workplace Preparation - Facilitator & Assessor (E-Learning)
Location: Pretoria East (Hybrid – 3 days a week HO, 2 days remote facilitation)
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the Chief Learning Officer (CLO)

The Facilitator & Assessor is responsible for delivering structured learning interventions, conducting assessments, and ensuring learners acquire the necessary competencies in line with regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal in the quality assurance process, supporting learners, assessing their progress, and maintaining compliance with learning and development standards.
Requirements:
- Facilitation Competency: Unit Standard 117871 - Conduct facilitation using a variety of given methodologies OR SAQA ID 97154 - Occupational Trainer Certification OR a tertiary qualification in Human Resource Development (HRD) including modules in facilitation and assessment
- Assessment Competency: Registered Constituent Assessor with the relevant Assessment Quality Partner (AQP) AND/OR Certificate of Competence in relation to conducting assessment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Facilitator in a formal training environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a registered Assessor conducting assessments
- Experience with conducting classroom and workplace-based training for adults on learning programmes in the National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
- Facilitators must possess practical, real-world experience in the subject matter, a solid understanding of the course content, and be current with developments in the field
- Minimum two (2) years of experience conducting training on virtual platforms AND facilitation on recorded videos
- Solid experience in working on eLearning systems
- Knowledge of and experience in developing a learning roadmap for eLearning programmes
- Detailed knowledge of policy and compliance requirements related to eLearning in the NQF
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Competence in eLearning and digital assessment tools
- Ability to create assessment instruments for credit-bearing learning programmes
- Ability to engage learners and deliver interactive training sessions
- Proven ability to evaluate learner evidence and conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments
- Strong understanding of NQF related assessment policies & frameworks
- Ensures accurate assessment records & documentation
- Provides learner support and intervention strategies where necessary
- Must be able to read / write / speak in a professional manner. Given that communication in an eLearning environment is largely written, the facilitator must be able to use writing skills to make the learning experience one that is nurturing and supportive
Responsibilities may include but is not limited to:
Facilitation & Learner Support
- Conduct training sessions in accordance with lesson plans created by the Facilitator
- Use varied methodologies to deliver training, ensuring effective knowledge transfer for theory and practical activities
- Provide individual coaching and learner support throughout the training programme
- Ensure effective class management, learner engagement and compliance with attendance tracking
- Establish and implement learner retention initiatives alongside management
Assessment & Moderation Responsibilities
- Conduct formative and summative assessments following QCTO/SETA assessment criteria
- Compile assessment & Facilitation reports and provide feedback to learners
- Maintain assessment records, ensuring compliance with internal QMS and SETA regulations
- Participate in Internal Moderation processes, ensuring quality assurance in assessments
- Oversee learner portfolio development, verifying compliance before submission for moderation
Compliance & Quality Management
- Ensure adherence to QMS, SETA, and QCTO accreditation requirements
- Monitor learner progress and implement corrective action plans where necessary
- Maintain accurate assessment and training records for audit purposes
- Report on training effectiveness, assessment challenges, and learner progress to the COO monthly
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
- Submit Assessor Reports to the CLO
- Maintain learner attendance registers, assessment records, logbooks, and feedback forms
- Ensure all learner documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time for moderation and verification
Learning Environment Management
- Maintain training rooms, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety protocols
- Report facility or equipment issues to the COO
- Ensure learners are prepared for the workplace through addressing mindset, attitude & behaviour
- Create a professional working environment
