Job Summary

The VMware and Mitel Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting virtualized environments using VMware technologies alongside Mitel telecommunication systems. This role ensures optimal system performance, high availability, and seamless integration between virtual infrastructure and communication platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Work Experience/Requirements:

• 3-5 years professional hands-on experience with VMware and Mitel technologies.
• Proven experience in complex virtualized environments and unified communications systems.

•  Experience in  VMare technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX & vCenter)
•  Knowledge in networking (LAN/WAN, VPN & firewals.
•  Experience in Hyper-V
•  Certification in  CCNA Networking basics

Certifications:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Mitel Certified Engineer (MiVoice, MiCollab).
• ITIL Foundation (for service management) - Optional.
• CCNA Certification (Networking basics).

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vCenter).
• Strong understanding of Mitel UC solutions (MiVoice, MiCollab, MiContact Center).
• Experience with VoIP, SIP protocols, and PBX systems.
• Familiarity with networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, VLANs, firewalls) and storage systems.
• Proficiency with scripting tools like PowerShell or Python (for automation).
• Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience in Hyper-V.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

VMware Responsibilities:

1. Virtual Infrastructure Management:

   • Design, deploy, and manage VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, VVOLS, vCenter Server, and virtual networks.
   • Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patching for VMware products.

2. System Performance Optimization:

   • Monitor virtual machines (VMs) for performance and scalability.
   • Optimize storage, compute, and network resources in virtualized environments.

3. Disaster Recovery:

   • Set up and manage VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) for failover and business continuity.
   • Conduct regular backups and testing of disaster recovery procedures.

4. Troubleshooting:

   • Diagnose and resolve virtualization issues.
   • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve compatibility and performance challenges.

Mitel Responsibilities:

1. Unified Communications Administration:

   • Configure and maintain Mitel systems, including MiVoice Business, MiCollab, and MiContact Center.
   • Manage call routing, PBX setup, SIP trunks, and voicemail systems.

2. System Integration:

   • Integrate Mitel solutions with VMware environments or other third-party systems.
   • Work with APIs or middleware to enable unified communication.

3. User Support and Training:

   • Provide end-user support for Mitel solutions and troubleshoot VoIP or UC issues.
   • Conduct training sessions on Mitel system functionalities.

4. Maintenance and Monitoring:

   • Monitor system health and ensure uptime for Mitel platforms.
   • Perform regular software updates and patches for Mitel products
