- Manage the full payroll function for a diverse workforce
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, benefits, and deductions
- Administer and ensure compliance with tax calculations, UIF, and other statutory contributions
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and reconciliations.
- Handle payroll-related queries from employees and management
- Stay up-to-date with all legislative changes affecting payroll
- Ensure that payroll data is kept confidential and secure
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accuracy
- Maintain and update payroll records and employee files
- Perform month-end and year-end payroll processes
- A relevant degree in Accounting or Human Resources
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
- Strong knowledge of South African payroll and tax legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL)
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, VIP, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with employees and management
