Cronje and Cronje Chartered Accountants is a leading South African cloud-based accounting firm. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and Tax Administrator to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
* Process monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with South African labour laws and tax regulations.
* Maintain and update employee records, including personal information, salary adjustments, and tax details.
* Calculate and process statutory deductions such as income tax, UIF, and other relevant contributions.
* Prepare and submit monthly and annual payroll reports to relevant authorities.
* Address payroll-related queries from employees and management, providing timely and accurate information.
* Stay informed about changes in labour laws, tax regulations, and other relevant legislation affecting payroll processes.
* Collaborate with the HR department of our clients to ensure seamless integration of employee data between HR and payroll systems.
* Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to payroll expenses.
* Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll data.
* Support tax administration and ensure adherence to SARS and CSD regulations.
* Prepare documentation, schedule and participate in SARS telephonic meetings.
Candidate Requirements
The candidate should have:
* Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
* In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
* Proficient in using payroll software and MS Excel.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* A diploma or degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field is a plus.
* Professional certification in payroll administration is a plus.
* SARS Efiling practical experience is a plus.
