Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data/BI Analyst specializing in finance and

accounting to join their dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent technical abilities, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial systems. This role is pivotal in transforming data into actionable insights that directly influence strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

§  Data Collection and Validation:

o   Collect, clean, and validate data from diverse internal and external sources, ensuring high-quality inputs for financial and business analysis.

§  Financial and Statistical Analysis:

o   Perform detailed statistical and financial analyses to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights, with a focus on business performance metrics and financial data.

§  Visualization and Reporting:

o   Develop and deliver dynamic visualizations, dashboards, and detailed reports to effectively communicate findings, particularly on key financial and operational KPIs.

§  Collaboration with Stakeholders:

o   Work closely with finance, accounting, and business teams to understand specific data requirements and deliver actionable insights that align with business goals.

§  Accounting System Integration:

o   Extract and analyze financial data from accounting systems such as Sage, Pastel, and Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring accurate reporting and integration of data into broader analyses.

§  Data Integrity and Compliance:

o   Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data throughout all stages of the analysis process, aligning outputs with accounting and financial standards.

§  Process Optimization:

o   Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and reduce inefficiencies by analyzing trends in the data.

Preferred Experience

§  Previous experience in a finance or accounting environment is highly advantageous.

§  Experience with automation of financial reporting processes.

§  Familiarity with regulatory compliance and standards in financial reporting

Qualifications and Skills

§  Technical Proficiency

o   Expertise in data analysis tools, including:

§  Excel (advanced proficiency required).

§  SQL (writing complex queries and optimizing database performance).

§  Python or R for data manipulation and advanced analytics.

§  Experience with accounting software such as:

o   Sage, Pastel, and Microsoft Dynamics.

§  Proficiency in data visualization tools:

o   Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with a focus on creating financial dashboards and KPI reports.

§  Accounting and Finance Knowledge

§  Strong understanding of:

o   Accounting principles and practices.

o   Financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).

o   Business operations and financial performance metrics.

§  Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

§  Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and present insights that support strategic decision-making.
