Duties:
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of the companies, facilities, services, amenities especially pertaining to trade products
- Understanding company policies & procedures
- Stay updated on renovations, expansions, and upcoming enhancements
- Understand menu offerings
- In-depth knowledge of Touch-Points at each property
- Exceed the expectations of Trade Agents, providing personalised attention and solutions to enhance their experience
- Proactively follow up with trade agents after their guests' stays or events
- Conduct training sessions and product presentations for trade partners
- Provide updates on renovations and special promotions to trade partners
- Identify, target, establish, and maintain relationships with Trade Partners, including:
- Travel Agencies
- Tour Operators
- PCO's (Professional Conference Organizers)
- MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions)
- Government entities
- Production companies, and
- Corporate clients
- Training agents
- Segment trade agents based on their potential value and prioritise sales efforts accordingly
- Develop tailored sales pitches and proposals that align with the unique needs and preferences of individual trade agents
- Organise and host property visits and site inspections for key trade partners
- Collaborate with trade partners to create enticing packages and offers that drive bookings and revenue for VNL
- Act as the main point of contact for key trade agents, addressing their concerns
- Staff management:
- Give monthly tests to maintain product knowledge
- Arrange property visits for staff to maintain product knowledge
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to create trade-specific collateral, such as brochures and presentationsLeverage social media platforms and digital marketing to engage trade agents and showcase the company’s offerings
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure trade partners have access to relevant marketing materials and support for promotional activities
- Participate in:
- Trade shows
- Industry events, and
- Familiarization trips to strengthen relationships with trade partners
- Management of brochure contributions according to marketing strategy and budget
- Maintaining VNL Trade Instagram account as well as representing VNL on personal social media
- Customer Relations:
- Organise special appreciation events
- Maintain regular communication with trade partners
- Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints
- Administration:
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all trade account interactions
- Prepare contracts, addendums, and other documentation for trade account agreements
- Maintain website to ensure all information is up to date
- Mailer distribution to trade database
- Product Development:
- Collaborate with Operations Team to identify potential enhancements or new services that cater specifically to the needs of Trade Agents
- Test new offerings with select Trade Agents to gather feedback before wider implementation

Candidate Requirements
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma / degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management or similar
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in sales or business development, preferably in Hospitality
- Must have the ability to identify potential clients
- Ability to close deals with Trade Agents
- Must be proficient in Excel
- Opera Experience and knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Must be able to work shifts (up to 2 Saturdays per month)
- Must be a team player and work well with colleagues
- Must have a valid driver’s license and roadworthy vehicle
- Monitoring email boxes and telephone lines
- No clock watchers
- Maintenance and administration of the Sales CRM system
