Candidate Requirements
JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for managing various human resources functions to ensure the effective implementation of HR strategies and policies. This role encompasses recruitment, talent management, employee retention, onboarding, skills development, management of Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR), skills gap analysis, training coordination, employment equity, BBBEE scorecard management, performance appraisal and management, handling of enquiries, CCMA representations, drafting job descriptions and policies, implementing and overseeing employee engagement & wellness programs.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
§ 5 Years Proven experience as a Payroll Officer, HR Officer, or similar role in the Electrical or Engineering or construction Environment.
§ 3-5 Years’ Experience in HR Administration & General Administrative
§ 3-5 Years’ Experience with an HR/Payroll system (Such as VIP & Sage- (Preferably SAGE 300P)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
§ Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
§ Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection.
§ Coordinate and conduct comprehensive onboarding programs to integrate new employees smoothly into the organization.
Talent Management and Retention:
§ Identify and nurture high-potential employees through career development plans.
§ Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and enhance employee satisfaction.
§ Develop succession planning initiatives to ensure leadership continuity.
Skills Development and Training:
§ Conduct skills gap analyses to identify training needs within the organization.
§ Develop and implement training programs to address identified needs and promote continuous learning.
§ Manage the compilation and submission of the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) to relevant authorities.
Performance Management:
§ Oversee the performance appraisal process, ensuring timely and constructive feedback.
§ Assist managers in setting performance goals and developing performance improvement plans.
§ Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of performance management systems.
Employment Equity and BBBEE Compliance:
§ Ensure compliance with employment equity legislation and promote diversity within the workplace.
§ Manage and monitor the organization's BBBEE scorecard, implementing strategies to improve compliance levels.
Employee Relations:
§ Address employee enquiries and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
§ Represent the organization at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA) when necessary.
Policy Development and Compliance:
§ Draft, review, and update job descriptions to reflect current roles and responsibilities.
§ Develop and implement, review and update HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practices.
§ Ensure organizational compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Employee Engagement:
§ Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and job satisfaction.
§ Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to assess employee morale and address concerns.
§ Organize team-building activities and recognition programs to foster a positive work culture.
Employee Wellness:
§ Coordinate wellness programs aimed at promoting physical and mental health among employees.
§ Provide support and resources for employee assistance programs.
§ Monitor the effectiveness of wellness initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.
Administration and Reporting:
§ Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality.
§ Prepare and present reports on HR metrics, training outcomes, and employee relations matters.
§ Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
General & Training Development
§ To undertake professional development activities to maintain and extent competence.
§ Undertake Specific Client Training as required to fulfil role.
Undertake other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post as required from time to time.
