Experience as a Financial Accountant coming from a Manufacturing and warehouse environment is essential

Job description:
Financial Transactions and Record-Keeping

Process and record daily financial transactions, including sales, expenses, and supplier payments.
Maintain accurate records in the accounting system, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.

Account Reconciliation

Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and general ledger entries.
Ensure that intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

Costing and Inventory Management

Assist with the recording of cost of goods sold (COGS) and the valuation of inventory.
Update and reconcile inventory records, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Track inventory movements and perform regular stock counts.

Financial Reporting and Assistance

Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Provide financial data for reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Help prepare internal management reports for performance analysis.

Budgeting and Forecasting Support

Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering relevant financial data.
Update actuals vs. budget reports and provide support in variance analysis.

Compliance and Taxation Support

Assist with the preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns.
Ensure all accounting practices comply with local financial regulations and industry standards.
Support the finance team during internal and external audits, providing necessary documents.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

Process accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers.
Oversee the accounts receivable function and assist in collections and aging reports.

Fixed Asset Management

Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
Ensure proper accounting treatment of new assets and disposals.

Cash Flow and Treasury Support

Assist with cash flow management by preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring liquidity.
Help manage payments, ensuring all obligations are met while optimizing cash flow.

Process Improvement and Systems Support

Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and assist in implementing changes.
Ensure the proper functioning of financial software and systems, reporting any issues.

Team Collaboration and Support

Work closely with operations, procurement, and sales teams to ensure financial data accuracy.
Assist senior finance staff with special projects or tasks as needed.

Ad Hoc Financial Tasks

Provide support during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end closings.
Assist with any other ad hoc financial duties or reporting requirements as needed.
