KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Managerial Leader II, Technical Services

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To establish, implement and manage a best practice Mine Technical Services [Mine Resource Management] function and ensure safe and efficient production of ore. The incumbent operationalises strategy by managing managers and specialists and the scope of this role includes Surveying, Rock Engineering, Planning, Ventilation & OCC Hygiene and Exploration/Geology/Drilling/Sampling/Lab.  Provides management with advice to ensure the professional and safe exploration of the mineral. resources to meet the company objectives.

You will have the following:

• Degree or Diploma in any field of Resource Management
• Management of Post Graduate Mineral Resources qualification is preferred
• At least 10 Years Management experience

You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:

• The ability to integrate inputs from others from planning phase to delivery stage
• General Management skills
• Budgeting, finance and business understanding/acumen
• Project Planning and management
• Intimate knowledge of all related sub-disciplines within technical services
• Knowledge of all related policies, procedures and systems
• Ability to tap into the expertise of the specialists within the department
• Exposure to the total value chain of mining
• Mining across the mineral spectrum
• Strategy interpretation and translation
• Integration of the long term planning with strategic direction
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, Design, establish and embed effective and efficient MRM structures
• Lead tactical direction setting and plan for the business area in alignment to the company’s strategy
• Function as a subject matter expert on mine technical services (advisory service)
• Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
• Drive the implementation of integrated corporate governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks throughout the business
• Portray a positive image of the mine at all times to ensure current and future licence to operate
• Drive relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain
