1. Job Summary
- Perform ongoing facility maintenance and complete repairs on equipment. This includes fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building’s inhabitants.
2. Key Tasks
- Ensure work is carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the company’s safety procedure and regulations.
- Monitor machines to ensure maximum output/minimize downtime.
- Responsible for modifications.
- Exposure to sub-zero temperatures.
- Get quotes and create orders for spares and contractors.
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Maintain records.
- Assist plant with call outs and be on standby.
- Remove ice buildup from evaporator drain pans, investigate the cause and correct the problem.
- Ability to write SOP’s.
- Monitor fire safety systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Maintain fleet, licences, book services etc.
- Three phase and single-phase electricity knowledge.
- Wiring, repairs and testing.
Required Skills
- Maintenance & Repair: 5 to 6 years

- Matric / Grade 12
4. Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the similar position
5. Knowledge and Skills
- Mechanical and electrical Maintenance
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Plc maintenance and repairs
- Conveyors, compressors, motors, pumps
- Refrigeration experience
- Fault findings and repairs(breakdowns)
- Preventative maintenance
