Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Retail, you will play a critical role in the company, taking full ownership of the retail division. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement short- and long-term retail strategies to drive sales and growth.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the retail team, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Analyze market trends to make informed decisions about product selection, pricing, and advertising.
- Financial Management
- Take full ownership of the retail department’s P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and planning.
- Monitor financial performance, ensuring targets are met, and proactively improve profitability.
- Operational Excellence
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure proper inventory and stock management, including forecasting, replenishment, and merchandising.
- Oversee store operations to maximize customer satisfaction and achieve company objectives.
- Customer-Centric Focus
- Continuously improve customer service to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to increase revenue and profit margins.
- Also responsible for D2C ( E Shop) and pure players and marketing responsibility by way of packaging, campaigns etc
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in traditional retail management, preferably in premium or FMCG sectors.
- Strong understanding of the South African retail landscape.
- Exposure to international head office operations and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Inspirational leadership style with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to analyze market trends and make strategic decisions to drive growth.
