Job Description:
As the Accountant, your duties will include the following:
Oversee and maintain fixed asset registers
Prepare and review financial reports in accordance with industry standards
Support month-end and year-end financial closing procedures
Conduct reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting policies
Collaborate with cross functional teams for accurate financial reporting and analysis
Process financial transactions accurately
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports for various departments
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
Perform routine bank account reconciliations
Prepare and reconcile balance sheets
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
Analyze costs and financial performance metrics
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management
 
Skills & Experience:
Proficiency in performing reconciliations
Understanding of South African tax laws
Strong working knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems

Qualification:
Relevant Finance or Accounting degree
Completed SAIPA articles
Grade 12 (Matric)
