Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our client in Midrand. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles. The Diesel Mechanic will work on a variety of mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance tasks, and conduct inspections to ensure the safe and efficient operation of diesel-powered vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Shadow senior technician to learn company procedures and processes.
• Solve problems, advise customers, offer solutions, and gather information.
• Provide support to both local and international customers and products in Africa.
• Conduct installation, commissioning, decommissioning, training, certification, and handover of locally manufactured and imported capex equipment.
• Perform minor on-site preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on equipment.
• Handle major off-site repairs and refurbishments of equipment.
• Act as the company’s appointed representative when onsite, adhering to MHSA 2.9.2 and 2.6.1 regulations.
• Receive Level One First Aid Training and Certification.
• Work at heights up to 6 meters with provided Gravity Training and Certification.
• Ensure medical and mental fitness and adhere to company and mine zero-tolerance policies.

Requirements:

• Diesel Trade Test
• Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a Diesel Mechanic
• Knowledge of hydraulics and electrics (training will be provided) 
• Will be required to travel by road and air.
• Be away from home for several weeks at a time.
• Have a valid passport, ID, and drivers’ licence 08 will suffice.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues
