ENVIRONMENT:
Our client, a growing international startup consultancy, specializes in custom implementations of their platform software to drive digital transformation for financial institutions and multinational organizations. They are seeking an experienced and results-driven Customer Director to lead key areas of customer engagement and operational excellence. This critical role focuses on pipeline management, proposal and contract negotiations, revenue generation, service delivery, and adherence to managed service SLAs. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record in customer-centric roles.
DUTIES:
Senior Client Interface
- Engage with senior client management teams, requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills to build long-term trusted relationships.
- Act as an intermediary between our client and the client organization, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Provide strong leadership and decision-making to handle complex situations and guide teams toward solutions.
- Address conflicts, negotiate terms, and find mutually beneficial solutions.
Pipeline Management
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent growth aligned with a pre-existing account strategy.
- Collaborate across our client and the client to identify and target new opportunities.
- Keep our client’s strategy in mind when qualifying opportunities.
Proposals and Contracting
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of customer proposals and contracts.
- Ensure all proposals align with company goals, customer needs, and financial targets.
- Work closely with our client leadership and engineering to mitigate risks and ensure contractual obligations are achievable.
Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic initiatives.
Delivery Quality
- Oversee the execution of projects and services to ensure they meet customer expectations and company standards.
- Identify issues ahead of time and inspire teams to solve problems before they become visible to clients.
- Implement metrics and KPIs to evaluate delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery processes.
Managed Service SLA Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all managed services.
- Proactively address and resolve any service issues or escalations.
- Collaborate with the Managed Services team to optimize service reliability and efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
Client related domain experience that is required:
- Mining and commodity related operational improvement
- Supply chain and logistics digital operational process improvement, outside of implementing traditional ERP systems
Background experience:
- Proven experience in customer management, sales leadership, and service delivery.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and strategic planning skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on deadlines.
- Worked in a consulting environment, with excellent experience of building new client relationships, monetizing existing relationships, deal origination where an RFP does not exist, selling and solution design for complex business process improvement
- Strong track record of completing commercial agreements and impactful messages to senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen linked to achieving client outcomes
- Demonstrates strong versatility and can thrive in innovative situations
- Viewed as an expert in your chosen field
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field
