Our client based in the Northern Suburbs is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team.As the Financial Accountant, you'll manage and maintain company records, focus on Fixed Assets, Insurance and Stock. You will also assist with the monthly Management Reports, all VAT related duties for the Group. Finally, you will provide support to Finance Manager, Creditors Clerk and other Accountants with regards to audits and other accounting functions.

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric
BCom Accounting Degree or relevant degree
3-5 years experience in an Accountant or similar position
Microsoft Excel - Advanced
Microsoft Word - Intermediate
Strong numerical and analytical skills

KNOWLEDGE:

IFRS and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Income tax and VAT Laws
Company laws
SA Foreign Exchange laws
Knowledge of insurance practices

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, insurance records, and stock journals.
Manage bank accounts, process payments, and perform reconciliations.
Handle fleet and credit card reconciliations and transactions.
Prepare month-end reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet reconciliations, and tax provisions.
Calculate and process commissions and intercompany transactions.
Oversee VAT returns and liaise with SARS on compliance matters.
