Duties:
• Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of innovative digital and online learning strategies.
• Providing support to academic staff regarding the learning management system (Moodle) and other educational technologies.
• Designing online/hybrid learning sessions with academic staff to ensure a high-quality learning experience aligned with module outcomes and assessment strategies.
• Developing and implementing processes and best practices for creating online/hybrid learning modules.
• Identifying the pedagogical needs of academic staff for online/hybrid learning and design capacity development interventions.
• Managing the learning technology team, overseeing the learning management system and other relevant technologies.
• Cultivating a collaborative and innovative culture which prioritises continuous learning, upskilling, and professional development.
• Overseeing career development, performance management, and training requirements for the learning technology team.
• Collaborating with academic staff, the Head: Learning and Teaching, and other teams to develop online/hybrid learning offerings.
• Undertaking additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills
- Three Years’ Recent And Relevant Working Experience In An Educational Context : 3 to 4 years
- Understanding Learning Theory And Practice, And Experience In Creating Digital Content
- Experience Using Video Streaming And Online Collaboration Tools (E.G., Zoom, Teams).
Candidate Requirements
Requirements:
• A postgraduate degree (e.g., honours, postgraduate diploma, or master's) in education, educational technology, instructional technology and design, online learning design, or a closely related field.
• Three years’ recent and relevant working experience in an educational context (preferably in a higher education institution or business school) within the field of online/hybrid learning design.
• Experience must demonstrate the ability to operate at a senior level, including designing, implementing, and evaluating online or hybrid learning initiatives in collaboration with academic staff or educators.
• Proven management experience, including leading a team, overseeing performance management, and driving strategic goals in a dynamic and innovative environment.
• Understanding learning theory and practice, and experience in creating digital content (e.g., videos, SCORMs, podcasts, interactive digital content).
• Proficiency in using and supporting a learning management system and other learning technologies.
• Experience using video streaming and online collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
• Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
Recommendations:
• Project management experience on relevant projects (i.e. educational technologies or online learning design).
• Evidence of continued development/training regarding technology-enriched learning.
• Experience in graphic design, website design or programming.
