We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join a leading investment banking firm on a contract bases. As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to the development of data solutions, enhancing operational efficiency and providing innovative technical solutions. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration across systems and compliance with data governance standards. You will work closely with business stakeholders to address needs and implement scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Improve operational efficiency and suggest cost-effective solutions.


• Deliver exceptional customer service with proactive and innovative solutions.


• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements.


• Produce program specifications and implement system enhancements.


• Code, compile, test, and implement applications as per SDLC guidelines.


• Ensure compliance with legislative and audit requirements during development.


• Assess and mitigate risks within the IT programming environment.


• Develop technical specifications and ensure architecture alignment with agreed standards.


• Minimize downtime through proactive identification of potential issues.


• Conduct performance analysis and root cause analysis post-implementation.


• Continuously develop technical and business skills.


• Work closely with business units to identify IT solutions in a timely manner.


• Supervise other developers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in data engineering.


• Strong experience in both front-end and back-end development.


• Advanced SQL skills, especially on MSSQL.


• Experience with technologies like Teradata, PowerBI, Hive, Ab Initio, and Data APIs.


• Experience in data warehouse development (3NF).


• Knowledge of data governance and working with data models.


• Experience with workflow tools like TIBCO AMX/Camunda is an advantage.


• A minimum of a related degree (B.Comm, B.Eng, BSC Eng, BSC Informatics).


• 8+ years’ experience in data engineering.
