Our client, a rapidly growing finance and technology company in South Africa and its neighbouring countries, is looking for an Intermediate Product Owner to join their team.

About the Role:

As the Intermediate Product Owner, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the development and implementation of the company’s credit products, including credit policy systems, credit scoring, provisioning, and system data management. You will work closely with key stakeholders, particularly within the data and credit teams, to ensure timely and high-quality product implementations and continuous improvement of the product suite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Ownership: Manage and prioritize the development and implementation of credit products and systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• System Implementation: Drive the system implementation of the credit policy, credit scoring, and provisioning, ensuring smooth integration with other business systems.
• Change Management: Define, prioritize, and deliver product changes, ensuring timely and high-quality implementation.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and perform root cause analysis on any issues that arise, working with teams to resolve them efficiently.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with key stakeholders, particularly within the data and credit teams, to ensure successful product delivery and alignment with business needs.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve product performance by identifying areas for optimization and collaborating with teams to enhance systems and processes.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in a relevant role such as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst.
• SQL Skills: Proven experience writing SQL queries and working with databases.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use logical, pragmatic reasoning to find solutions.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, with a focus on order, quality, and accuracy.
• Self-Learning: Ability to quickly adapt and learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
