A client is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Java Developer to join their leading fintech platform based in Cape Town. This exciting role offers the flexibility of remote work and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and optimize services using Java and Groovy scripting, leveraging web services to enable smooth data flow across systems.
Develop workflows in Microsoft Power Automate to ensure seamless integration between the banking API and Microsoft Power Platform.
Utilize Azure Functions, Azure AI, and other Azure services to improve automation, streamline processes, and enhance system scalability.
Integrate and customize AI tools, including ChatGPT and other AI plugins, to optimize platform functionality and improve user experience.
Use JavaScript to develop or enhance user-facing components that contribute to a better interaction experience.
Work closely with the development team to document processes, share insights, and help evolve the tech stack, ensuring scalability and robust platform capabilities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Java, Groovy scripting, and web services API development
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate
- Experience with Azure services, including Azure AI and Azure Functions
- Knowledge of AI tools and plugins (e.g., ChatGPT) for platform integration
- Front-end development experience with JavaScript (preferred, not essential)
Experience:
- At least 5 years in a similar role with strong experience in automation and API integrations
- Experience working with distributed teams in remote work environments
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a forward-thinking approach
- Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders
