Hire Resolve's client, a leading company in the manufacturing and engineering sector, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining, repairing, and improving the company’s production machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical inspections on all production machinery as required.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s in-house maintenance program and procedures.
• Perform routine planned and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Address hydraulic system issues, including leak repairs and filter change-outs.
• Maintain conveyor belts, drives, pulleys, and replace rollers as necessary.
• Perform lubrication tasks and replace V-belts.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment through general housekeeping.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns promptly and effectively.
• Perform fault-finding on hydraulic systems.
• Assemble and pressure-test hydraulic cylinders.
• Service various hydraulic components.
• Provide training and coaching to semi-skilled staff.
• Comply with all regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Requirements

• Qualified Fitter Artisan with Red Seal certification.
• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a heavy industry or similar environment.
• Physically fit, with the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• A strong hydraulic background will be a distinct advantage.
