MET PROCESS PLANT OPERATOR X1 (Grading C2)

Job specification

• Grade 11 or Trade Qualification
• 2-3 years’ previous operating experience in a mineral processing environment, preferably Gold
• Knowledge of SCADA and AMI Administration will be advantageous
• Independent judgement, initiative and interpersonal communication skills are required
• Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
• Ability to diagnose problems and troubleshooting thereof
• Capable to complete repetitive tasks at a consistent standard
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of processing technologies and equipment
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities

• Work a cycle of shifts
• Practical operation of all processing plant equipment relating to elution, regeneration kiln, leach / absorption, grinding, reagents, gold room duties and tails treatment circuit and crushing circuit
• Identifying and diagnosing, where possible, items of the plant that require preventative maintenance or repair
• Ensuring plant efficiency and equipment availability to optimize set production targets
• Responsible for ensuring daily cleaning of equipment in various sections
• Ability to make rough sketches, pre-planning and estimate cost and report back to supervisor
• Practice and adhere to metallurgical plant policies and procedures
• Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
